ZipBaits Hickory Crankbait
At first glance, the ZipBaits Hickory appears to be a typical compact crankbait designed for trout fishing. However, this series offers some truly interesting and useful features. Thanks to its unique hydrodynamics, shape, and balance, these lures provide excellent action and can attract fish in both still water and current. As a result, the range of predatory and omnivorous fish it can catch is impressively wide. The Hickory is especially effective for catching chub and ide.
All of these advantages stem from innovative design and technological solutions used in the development of the ZipBaits Hickory. The lure's balance is achieved using the highly efficient Mag-Drive system with a tungsten MZ-19 moving weight. This weight shifts between two calibrated positions within the system:

Before casting, the lure assumes a vertical position and the weight shifts to the tail, optimizing its balance for long, accurate casts.

At the start of retrieval, as the lure rotates downward along its horizontal axis due to water pressure on the lip, the weight moves forward. This balance state offers optimal presentation during movement and pause within the water column.
The ZipBaits Hickory series includes two model lines — Hickory and Baby Hickory, which differ in size, weight, and number of hooks.

Each offers progressively deeper diving capabilities. Designed primarily for trout fishing, these lures are equipped with barbless single hooks for easy fish release — a feature appreciated in catch-and-release fishing for various species.
