Fishing accessories for storage, care and organisation

The right accessories protect tackle, improve organisation and make routine tasks easier at the water. Tackle boxes separate hooks, swivels, lures, weights and small tools by size or purpose. Choose a layout that fits the items you carry and the bag or compartment where the box will be stored, paying attention to closure, internal dividers and water resistance.

Hook and rig storage protects prepared hooklengths and rigs from tangles, damaged points and sharp bends. Specialist wallets, cases and boards can save time on the bank, especially when several lengths or patterns are prepared in advance. Label sections clearly and dry wet rigs before closing them away for longer storage.

For visibility, polarised fishing sunglasses reduce surface glare and can help anglers see features or fish in suitable light. Fishing optics include viewing equipment for observing water, wildlife or distant marks. Sunglasses and optics should be protected from scratches and used according to their product guidance; ordinary polarised lenses are not a substitute for certified protective eyewear.

Maintenance products such as reel oils support routine care when used in the correct quantity and location. Buckets and riddles help mix, sieve and carry bait, while other categories cover glue, light sticks, pole accessories, fly care, fishing towels and practical transport equipment. The current range includes Preston Innovations, Matrix, Westin, Savage Gear, Korum, Berkley, Abu Garcia and other established brands.

Choose accessories around the way you fish

Begin with the problems you need to solve. Lure anglers may prioritise compact boxes and quick access to small components. Coarse and carp anglers often need more rig storage, bait-preparation equipment and organised bank space. Fly anglers can browse fly-tying equipment and care products for preparing or maintaining flies and lines. Anglers moving a larger load may benefit from barrows and trollies, provided the capacity and dimensions suit their equipment and terrain.

Check compatibility and materials before ordering. Oils and glues must be suitable for the intended component; over-application can attract dirt or damage some finishes. Storage boxes should accommodate the actual lure or rig size without bending hooks or tails. Buckets, handles and transport items should be checked for secure fittings and realistic carrying capacity.

After fishing, separate wet equipment from dry tackle, rinse items exposed to saltwater and allow towels, bags and boxes to dry before storage. Small habits such as replacing damaged dividers, wiping lenses and inspecting closures help accessories last longer and keep the main tackle ready for the next trip.

Complete the rest of your fishing kit

Browse dedicated fishing tools for cutting, crimping and unhooking, select suitable fishing luggage for transport, and add weather-appropriate fishing clothing. Build the kit around what you actually use so that every accessory has a clear place and purpose.
