Sigma nylon hip and chest waders

The current Sigma collection contains two available products: Sigma Nylon Hip Waders and Sigma Nylon Chest Waders. Hip waders are intended for shallower access and situations where full chest coverage is unnecessary, while chest waders provide greater coverage but require more careful fit and water-safety planning.

Compare both models in the wider fishing waders collection. Check the exact size chart, boot dimensions, material, sole and seam construction rather than selecting only by normal shoe size. Socks and underlayers can change the fit.

Choose the lowest wader height that safely suits the expected conditions. Water can rise quickly through tide, rain, releases or changing river flow. Waders must never encourage entry into water that would be unsafe without them.

Choose Sigma waders for the venue

Hip waders can suit muddy banks, launching, bait collection and shallow crossings where permitted. Chest waders are more suitable when additional splash and depth coverage is needed, but neither style is buoyancy equipment. Carry appropriate flotation equipment where the activity requires it.

Plan layers through the main fishing clothing range, avoiding bulky garments that restrict movement or create pressure points. In cold water, dress for the water temperature rather than the air alone.

Check compatible fishing footwear only when a product uses separate boots; bootfoot models require the supplied boot and sole to suit the ground. Cleats or aggressive soles may be restricted on some fisheries to prevent invasive-species transfer.

Inspect, clean and store waders

Before every use, inspect seams, fabric, boots and the area around knees and ankles. Test for small leaks in a controlled way, keep sharp hooks away from the material and do not place waders directly on rough concrete or thorns.

Enter and leave the water slowly, use a staff where appropriate and avoid deep, fast or unstable water. If water enters, move to safety immediately rather than continuing to fish.

After use, rinse away mud, salt and vegetation as appropriate, clean according to the care label and dry the inside and outside fully. Store Sigma waders away from heat, sunlight, oils and sharp tackle, without tight folds that can stress the coating or seams.
