The Mitchell Tanager SW Boat Rod uses a graphite blank and saltwater-resistant stainless steel LTS guides. Its two-piece construction and EVA handle suit anglers putting together a practical sea boat setup.

Why choose it

The Moderate Fast action combines a responsive tip with power further down the blank.
A DPS-type reel seat provides the reel fitting.
The separated sections take less room to carry than the assembled rod.

How to choose

60–120g: choose between the options labelled 182cm and 212cm. These are the lower-load models.
100–200g: available under the 212cm, 242cm and 272cm option labels for heavier tackle.
At the 212cm option size, choose by the required weight range rather than length alone.

A great rod for the money.I have only been out fishing with it once to try it out and it casts 10g lures very well.Blanked that day so am looking forward to seeing what it is like with a decent trout on the end of it.
