Savage Gear predator and saltwater lures

The available Savage Gear range is led by predator lures. Cannibal Shad models provide soft-lure choices in several sizes and colours, while 3D Line Thru Whitefish, 3D Line Thru Trout, 3D Hybrid Pike and Sandeel V2 cover larger swimbait and baitfish-style presentations.

Compare these through soft lures and swimbaits, checking body length, weight, supplied rigging and sink behaviour. A 20cm Cannibal Shad and a 27cm Line Thru Whitefish place very different demands on the rod, leader, casting space and landing plan.

Low Glider jerkbaits, Seeker ISP and other hard lures extend the range. Browse minnows and crankbaits for steady or diving presentations, and select a jerkbait by buoyancy, glide, pause behaviour and total weight. Replace hooks or rings only with components that preserve balance and strength.

For coastal fishing, available Surf Seeker, Sandeel V2 and other metal profiles sit alongside sea metal jigs. Match lure weight to current, depth, wind and rod rating, and check whether the supplied hook arrangement suits shore, pier or boat use.

Savage Gear rods, reels and complete lure setups

Current rod options include Defiance SG2 and additional spinning or baitcasting families. Compare them with other spinning rods by casting range, length, action and target lure. Heavy predator lures require control through the whole cast; never exceed a rod rating because the lure feels compact.

The range includes SGS6 saltwater and other fixed-spool reels plus several multiplier reels. Choose reel size, hand orientation, gearing and line capacity for the matched rod. Saltwater use also requires suitable corrosion care, but rinsing cannot compensate for a reel that was not designed for the environment.

Leaders, stingers, jig heads, clips and quick-change weights must be sized as one system. Check every connection, and keep additional hooks secured during transport. Use bite-resistant leader material where appropriate for pike and other toothy species, following local rules and the tackle specification.

Landing, clothing and equipment care

Savage Gear landing nets, bags, boxes, sunglasses, gloves, footwear and waterproof clothing are also represented. Select from landing nets by opening, mesh, handle and target fish, and compare waders by construction and fit. Waders are not a substitute for flotation equipment.

After fishing, rinse suitable lures, reels and net hardware used in salt water, dry bags and garments fully and inspect hook points, split rings, zips and seams. Store large rigged lures so hooks cannot catch clothing or soft lure bodies, and replace corroded or bent components before returning to the water.
