Soft lures for freshwater and saltwater predators
Soft lures cover a broad range of flexible artificial baits, from compact worms and creature shapes to paddle-tail shads and large predator profiles. They can be fished through canals, lakes, rivers and coastal marks for perch, pike, trout, sea bass and other predatory species. Shape controls how a lure behaves. Build a balanced soft-lure setup
Use a rod with enough sensitivity to follow the lure and enough power to set the hook at the intended distance. Braid can improve contact, while a suitable leader adds abrasion resistance and controls visibility. Inspect knots, hooks and lure bodies after snags or fish, and replace damaged parts before the next cast.
